Standings, Results, and Top Scorers By Game

Pool A

Standings

Beloit Memorial 3-0
New Berlin West 2-1
Beaver Dam 1-2
Hortonville 0-3

Pool Recap

Beloit Memorial played like a team in-season as opposed to one on a Wednesday in late June. The Purple Knights were relentless on defense where they turned steals into layups while also playing unselfish on the offensive side in the half court. Beaver Dam's offense was balanced, with plenty of scoring options stepping up at different times. New Berlin West shot the ball from deep better than any team in the pool while Hortonville stayed competitive in most of the games played, but has a few different players filling into new roles from last year.

Pool B

Standings

Onalaska 3-0
Hartford 2-1
Madison West 1-2
Oregon 0-3

Pool Recap

Onalaska is fundamental, balanced, and disciplined and that was on full display in Beaver Dam. Coach Kowal's group is led by his sons Ian ('26) and Tyler ('28) and has a former head coach's son Gavin McRoberts ('28) on the team, as IQ seems to be high across the Hilltoppers squad. Hartford plays some tough-nose defense up and down the roster which limits opposing team's scoring opportunities. The Orioles lack size, but rebound well and play fundamental ball on the offensive side. Madison West didn't play with a full squad on Wednesday but played hard and were led by a pair of good sized guards in seniors Michael Wilson and Malachi Gavins. Oregon has a few players learning new roles with the exodus of talent due to graduation and Vaughn Karvala's transfer. The Panthers are senior heavy however sophomore Koby Diaz has plenty of upside.

Pool C

Standings

G-E-T 3-0
Monona Grove 2-1
Lodi 1-2
Amery 0-3

Pool Recap

G-E-T has a good mix of seniors and underclassmen that propelled the group to a 3-0 day. Ball handling and creation off the dribble make the Red Hawks hard to guard in the half court as head coach Ian Anderson has plenty to look forward to this season and the next few. Monona Grove is long, athletic, and youthful. The Silver Eagles showcased that youthful skill even with standout junior Austin Luchetti not in attendance. Lodi competed with all three teams and relied heavily on the backcourt duo of Theo Traeder ('26) and Kale Schneider ('27), displaying one of the better long distance shooting performances as a team throughout the day. Amery may have lost all three games, but did so by 11 points or less. A younger group is still growing around do-everything junior Keaton Wollan.

Pool D

Standings

Turner 2-1
Madison East 2-1
Columbus 2-1
Baraboo 0-3

Pool Recap

Turner played in your face defense and did a good job of limiting scoring opportunities for its opponents on Wednesday. Under the tutelage of head coach Ken Watkins, the group is disciplined and will likely play above its limit again this winter. Columbus is a football team on the basketball court. The Cardinals are broad and strong across the board and use that physicality well. A strong and experienced senior group will lead coach Jeff Downing's squad come November. Madison East played with pace all day, scoring in the open court plenty while DJ Nash ('27) was one of the better pure scorers on the day. Baraboo has some holes to fill in the lineup, but younger playmakers led by junior Carter Rivas will grow as the offseason and preseason months roll on.

Pool E

Standings

Roncalli 3-0
Mosinee 2-1
Marshall 1-2
Lancaster 0-3

Pool Recap

Roncalli is a very balanced team with top end playmakers that will make them a tough team in Division come the winter. The Jets offense uses off-ball screening to create plenty of movement and openings for its ball handlers and creates openings for the shooters on the perimeter. Mosinee has two very talented and bouncy wings in Treve Stoffel ('26) and Brayden Reinke ('27) who have put on good mass and can score at all three levels. They'll be a tough out moving down to Division 3 this upcoming season. Marshall plays fast, pressures defensively full court, and though undersized, rebounds well. Junior wing Jaylen Miggins will only continue to mature and develop his game over the next two seasons for the Cardinals. Though Lancaster went winless Wednesday, the Flying Arrows have a very talented senior group that despite moving up to Division 3 this season, will make head coach Brian Knapp's squad a contender in the SWC and for a playoff push.

Pool F

Standings

Living Word Lutheran 3-0
North Crawford 2-1
Cambridge 1-2
Richland Center 0-3

Pool Recap

Living Word Lutheran lost some talented players to graduation but that didn't slow the Timberwolves down on Wednesday. Comfortable in the transition and half court, head coach Jake Holton's offense can put up points in a hurry and lock down on defense as was apparent in their come-from-behind win over North Crawford. Crawford is going to be a team to watch in Division 5 this upcoming season as head coach Chris Wettstein has a handful of players that can score the ball, even playing without junior Zack Bender on the day. The Trojans fly on defense and are share the ball well on offense. Cambridge will retool a touch this season under second-year head coach Alex Ranney, but the Bluejays had quite a few underclassmen play well in its three games on Wednesday. Richland Center has a solid one-two punch in senior forward Liam Fingerson and junior point guard Jayden Schoepp. Both are athletic for their positions while Schoepp stretches the floor and Fingerson does a majority of his damage around the rim.

Pool G

Standings

Watertown Luther Prep 3-0
Assumption 2-1
Southwestern 1-2
Fall River 0-3

Pool Recap

Watertown Luther Prep was relentless on both ends of the court all day. With plenty of length and speed up and down the lineup, the Phoenix didn't stop running all day. This group can score in transition, at the rim in the half court, and hit plenty of shots from deep throughout. Assumption may be undersized, but they get after it. The Royals can light it up from behind the arc, especially Logan Nystrom ('26) who had 19 made threes in three games Wednesday. Nystrom and fellow senior JT Schlaefer form a really solid backcourt duo for head coach Joshua Paltz. Southwestern played Wednesday without all-SWAL performer Aiden Keleher. However, Clint Nemitz's squad was competitive and will likely be so again this upcoming winter, relying on its physical play and the work ethic of the team as a whole. Fall River fielded a young squad at Beaver Dam, but played well in many stretches on Wednesday. Long-time coach Arnie Oelke has been doing this a long time and will know how to get his team ready come November.

Pool H

Standings

Hillsboro 3-0
Clintonville 2-1
Belmont 1-2
Dodgeland 0-3

Pool Recap

Hillsboro went undefeated in their pool on Wednesday and displayed a balanced scoring attack that does have a go-to scorer in senior lead guard Miles Ravenscroft. The Tigers play fundamental basketball and do a good job of playing unselfish basketball to get the right look on the offensive side of the ball. Clintonville was led by a senior group on Wednesday that showed some great growth throughout the day and did a good job of turning tips on defense into points in transition. Belmont has a solid young core led by big man Thomas Freeman and guard Wyatt Temperly, both sophomores, who the offense runs through on every possession. Like Belmont, Dodgeland is a rather young group that relies on its guard play to get buckets on the offensive side. Despite going 0-3, the Trojans were competitive in all three games played.
