Head Coach: Tommy Zaffrann
Roster:
Ashton Crawley, 5-10, PG, Class of 2007, Brown Deer ... An honorable mention all-Parkland Conference selection as a junior ... From Coach Zaffrann: "Ashton is the quickest little jitterbug I could find. I saw him against Kwamain Mitchell of Dominican and he stayed with Kwamain step for step. Defensively, his quickness can cause a lot of problems."
Latrell Smith, 6-3, WF, Class of 2007, Milwaukee Vincent ... Missed part of the 2006-07 prep season with an injury ... One of the most athletic players in Wisconsin ... From Coach Zaffrann: "Latrell is my athletic slasher. He's leap and bounds ahead of everybody else in terms of athleticism. He does need to work on his outside shot and defense a bit."
James Haarsma, 6-6, WF, Class of 2007, Racine St. Catherine's ... A starter and all-league performer for a St. Catherine's squad that went 27-0 and won the WIAA Division 3 state title ... A terrific outside shooter who can also rebound and score on putbacks ... Ranked No. 11 among players in his class by Wishoops.net ... Has received recruiting interest from Tennessee, Wisconsin and Bradley, among others ... From Coach Zaffrann: "James is an all-around solid player. He can get you the big rebound or the big shot. He's also a lights-out shooter. He'll be our No. 1 option in terms of putting the ball in the basket."
Arsenio Eaton, 6-5, PF, Class of 2007, Milwaukee Vincent ... Like Smith, Eaton brings plenty of athleticism to the Playground Warriors' lineup ... Figures to be one of the top interior players for a loaded Vincent squad in 2006-07 ... From Coach Zaffrann: "Arsenio is a good rebounder. He'll go up and get it over anybody. Arsenio can get the crowd going with a big dunk. He won some games for us with his offensive rebounding last year."
John Henney, 6-7, PF, Class of 2007, Burlington Catholic Central ... A key cog on a Catholic Central squad that went 26-1 and beat Abbotsford in the WIAA Division 4 state title game ... A highly skilled big man who can consistently knock down the 10-15 foot jump shot ... A second team all-league pick in the Classic Division of the Midwest Classic Conference ... From Coach Zaffrann: "John is a big man who brings a calming influence to our lineup. He's got a nice shooting touch from the perimeter, and he's very patient with the ball in his hands."
Anthony Hill, 6-7, PF, Class of 2007, Milwaukee Bradley Tech ... One of the top prospects in the class of 2007 because of his combination of skill, strength and footwork ... Will miss the entire months of March and April with a broken right foot ... From Coach Zaffrann: "Anthony is a big space eater down low. He's a big, strong kid who will battle against anybody in the post. He has a nice shot out to 15 feet, but he'll be in the post for us."
Greg Davis, 6-3, WG, Class of 2007, Brown Deer ... Missed the entire 2006-07 prep season with a broken leg ... A terrific athletic who was recently given clearance to resume playing ... Could be one of the biggest sleepers in Wisconsin's class of 2007 ... From Coach Zaffrann: "When Greg gets back into basketball-playing condition, he can be a devastating slasher. He needs to gain confidence in his ability to cut and move sideways, but once he gets that, people will see a tremendous player."
Shavon Scott, 6-1, WG, Class of 2007, Milwaukee Vincent ... One of the top players in Wisconsin in terms of being able to score ... Can hit from downtown or score off of drives to the basket ... From Coach Zaffrann: Shavon reminds me of Greg Brown, both body wise and the way he plays the game. He gives 100 percent all of the time he's on the floor. He can go inside, take the contact and score."
Rico Combs, 6-7, WF, Class of 2007, Wauwatosa West ... A skilled wing player with excellent size and athleticism ... From Coach Zaffrann: "Rico has good ball handling and passing skills, especially for a player with his size."
