Hunter Earns WIAC Women's Basketball Award

Former Eau Claire Regis standout Mackenzie Hunter of UW-LaCrosse has been named the WIAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.  Here is the full WIAC press release:

Mackenzie Hunter, Senior (Eau Claire/Regis), Forward of UW-La Crosse

Hunter was named the MVP of the Wildwood Lodge Tip-Off Tournament at Concordia University-St. Paul (Minn.). She averaged 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists in two contests, while shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 17-of-17 at the free throw line.  Hunter scored 27 points with a career-high 11 rebounds in UW-La Crosse's 87-73 victory over NCAA Division II Bemidji State University (Minn.) on Nov. 21.  She scored her 1,000th career point in the game and after finishing with 26 points in an 82-60 loss to NCAA II Concordia University-St. Paul on Nov. 22, she now has 1,044 points.  Hunter ranks 13th in school history in scoring.
