Girls Showcase Awards and Honors

Seventy-nine girls particpated in the 3rd annual WisSports.net Prep Showcase this past Saturday, September 13th.  The event was held at the Just a Game Fieldhouse in the Wisconsin Dells.



Sarah Eichler (pictured below) from Grafton and Taylor Wurtz from Ripon were named co-Showcase MVPs after garnering five votes each from the Showcase staff.







The following girls were named to the All-Showcase team as voted on by the coaches that worked the event:

The coaches also voted on a All-Hustle team, which is as follows:

The format of the showcase was players were placed on teams and the teams were put into 2-five team pools - the Big 10 and the Big East.  Wisconsin and Michigan State both finished 3-1 in the Big 10 pool with Wisconsin winning the tie-breaker to advance to the championship round.



The Big East pool was amazingly tied with all five teams going 2-2.  



In the first place game the Wisconsin team defeated the Seton Hall team 22-15.  Members of the Wisconsin team were:

In the second place game Syracuse upended Michigan State with Lindsay Walter tying the game at the buzzer and they went on to win in Sudden Death OT.  Members of the Syrcause squad were:
