The offers keep coming for Arrowhead offensive lineman Jared Volk (6-4, 287).
Ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 5 offensive lineman in the state's class of 2009 by WisFootball.net, Volk already holds scholarship offers from Northern Illinois and Illinois State and added yet another offer to that list on Tuesday.
"I just wanted to let you know that I received my third offer yesterday. This one came from the University of North Dakota," Volk said.
"I have been in contact with them, sending e-mails back and forth, and they sent me one saying to call them right away and so I called and they offered. They were really excited about me and said they wanted me to come play for their school," Volk explained.
The UND coaching staff weren't the only ones enthusiastic about the offer though.
"I was really excited," Volk said. "I've been liking that school for a while and looking at their website and they're really good."
Volk is the state's fourth known prospect to garner a scholarship offer from the University of North Dakota joining Chilton tight end/defensive end Justin Juckem (6-5, 245), Milwaukee Riverside running back Ryan Givens (5-10, 175), and West Allis Hale linebacker Brian Otto (6-1, 210).
Despite now having three scholarship offers to his name, one Division I-FBS and two Division I-FCS, Volk said none of the schools have a lead over the others at this point and they're all even in his mind until he has a chance to take his official visits to each campus.
Watch out though, a fourth school could soon be entering the mix as well.
"Ball State said they're really close (to offering a scholarship), but they're not for sure," Volk said.
A three-year varsity player, Volk was a second-team all-conference selection last season. He was also a third place finisher at the Super Heavy Weight Power Lifting State Championship as a sophomore and fifth place finisher as a junior. Volk received all-conference accolades in the shot put and discus as a sophomore.
Volk runs a reported 5.25-second 40-yard dash, measures a 28-inch vertical jump, bench presses 365-pounds, squats 535-pounds, dead lifts 535-pounds, and power cleans 265-pounds.
