-According to West Salem head coach Wayne Sackett, Panthers quarterback Dan Schneider (6-2, 178) is receiving numerous college looks.
"Dan has had recruiters contact him from a number of D I and D IIschools mainly from Minnesota, North and South Dakota," Coach Sackettsaid.
The state's most decorated quarterback heading into the 2008 season,Schneider was an Associated Press first-team all-state and WFCAhonorable-mention all-state selection last season. He was also namedthe La Crosse Tribune's Player of the Year, La Crosse Tribune first-team all-area and first-team all-Coulee Conference. Schneider was one of ten finalists for the La Crosse Tribune Sportsperson of the Year Award.
Ranked as the No. 36 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback in theclass of 2009 by WisFootball.net, Schneider's eye-popping junior seasonnumbers included completing 140 of 232 passing attempts for 2,418 yardsand 30 touchdowns and rushing 113 times for 554 yards and eighttouchdowns.
Also a standout defensive back, Schnedier earned second-teamall-conference honors after totaling 44 tackles, 22 assisted tackles,three sacks, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
A proven winner, Schneider helped guide the Panthers to a 13-1 record and the Division 4 state title last season.
Schneider recorded a 4.84-second 40-yard dash, 4.38-second shuttle,7.47-second 3 cone drill, 105.5-inch broad jump, 32-inch vertical jumpand bench pressed 155-pounds 13 times at the Bellin Elite Combine thispast spring.
At the Midwest High School Combine he posted a 4.65-second 40-yarddash, 4.50-second shuttle, 7.63-second 3 cone drill, 106-inch broadjump, 31.2-inch vertical jump and bench pressed 185-pounds four times.
-Kettle Moraine Lutheran tight end Ryan Behm (6-4, 220) is starting to receive more and more interest from Division II and Division III colleges across the region.
Behm has been in frequent contact with Augustana and Minnesota-Duluth, receiving one-day camp invites from both schools.
In addition, a number of private Division III schools such as BeloitCollege, Lawrence University and Concordia University have called andrequested visits. There's also still some interest from the WIACschools.
Ranked as the No. 7 tight end in the class of 2009 by WisFootball.net,Behm earned second-team all-conference accolades last season aftertotaling 25 receptions for 350 yards and five touchdowns.
-Former Green Bay Notre Dame quarterback Andrew Fabry(6-3, 195) has elected to transfer from Division I FBS Arizona State(where he was a walk-on) to Division I FCS North Dakota State.
The fourth quarterback on NDSU's 90-man fall practice roster, Fabrywill join starter Nick Mertens (junior) and backups Troy Jackson(junior) and Jose Mohler (freshman) to fill out the Bison's depth chart.
A 2007 graduate of Green Bay Notre Dame, Fabry will be reunited withformer Tritons teammates and current Bison Joe Lardinois (startingdefensive end) and Matt Phillips (backup nose guard).
