Chris Walby has joined the staff at Wisconsin Sports Network as Hockey Scout and Writer.  Chris will be developing player ranking lists and player profiles for the top hockey players in the state.  He will also be contributing to our popular hockey blogs.

A native of Lodi, Chris was a hockey standout for Middleton high school in 1993.  Walby's post high school hockey career included three seasons at the Junior A level as a player in the USHL, NAHL and a captain of the Royal City Outlaws of the British Columbia Junior Hockey League.  Chris has spent the last seven seasons on the bench of his alma mater as an Assistant Coach for the Cardinals.  He recently finished his first season as the Head Coach of the nationally ranked Madison Elite U16 team of the Wisconsin Elite Hockey League.

"Anytime we can add to our great content network and sports specific expertise it is a no brainer, especially with Chris experience and passion for hockey," said Nicholas Kartos, President and Founder of WSN.

Walby's most recent project is undertaking the task of G.M. and Head Coach of Wiscohockey.com, an offseason AAA program that showcases Wisconsin's elite high school hockey players.  His showcase is around the corner and more info can be found on his website: WiscoHockey.com.

"I am extremely excited to work in conjunction with Wissports.net to promote our state's top players.  I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead,"  said Walby.

Chris joins current hockey blogger DPlaya and girls scout Del Scanlon as hockey contributors for WisSports.net hockey.  He also helps extend their sport specific expertise that currently includes Mark Miller (boys basketball), Marlin Lee (football), Dennis Semrau (baseball), Bob Tomlinson (softball) and Jennie Adrian (girls basketball).
