Athlete of the Week Nominees for November 12-18

Below are the nominees for th Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of November 12 through 18. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word.

Jake Laihinen, Homestead football. Laihinen ran for a touchdown and threw for another as he helped the Highalnders to a Division 2 State Championship with a  14-0 win over Waunakee on Friday afternoon. Laihinen completed 7 of 15 passes for 97 yards in the victory that prevented the Warriors from winning their 49th straight game that would have set a WIAA record. 

Evan Henderson, Saint Mary's Springs football. Henderson completed 14 of 18 passes for 144 yards and two scores in the Ledgers 24-14 win over Regis in the Division 6 State title game.

Andre Bodden, Catholic Memorial football. Bodden caught 3 passes for 103 yards and 1 touchdown and also finished with 3 interceptions on defense, one of those interceptions he returned for a touchdown. 

Tyler Ledbeter, Somerset football. Ledbeter scored 3 touchdowns in the Spartans overtime win over Big Foot in the Division 4 State Championship game. Ledbeter finished with 159 on only 15 carries.

Caleb Glennon, Amherst football. Glennon threw for 2 touchdowns in the Falcons 19-7 victory over Lancaster to claim the Division 5 State Championship. Glennon finished the day 13 of 21 passing and totaled 40 yards on the ground. While on defense he picked off a pass. He started in place of injured Chris Zblewski.
