Team of the Week - Week 3: Ellsworth Panthers
The Ellsworth Panthers have been selected as the Week 3 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. The team opened the Middle Border Conference schedule with a win over defending league champion Durand. The Panthers were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 3. A total of 7367 votes were cast, as Ellsworth's 2862 votes edged out the 2673 of Mount Horeb/Barneveld.
The Panthers opened the season with a pair of solid non-conference victories, but had a chance to make a splash in the Middle Border Conference race with a game against defending league champion Durand. Scoreless through the first quarter, Ellsworth went up 14-8 at halftime before pulling away for a 29-8 victory.
