Christian Laettner's game-winning shot over Kentucky in a NCAA Regional game in 1992 is one of the iconic plays in college basketball history. Thursday night, Grafton's Luke Benzschawel, a University of Wisconsin football recruit, did his best Laettner impression.
With the game against Whitefish Bay tied with just seconds left, Jarred Kettenhoven played the role of Grant Hill, throwing a baseball pass from one baseline to the other basket. Benzschawel caught, turned, and minus the Laettner dribble, made a move to his left shoulder, hitting a fallaway at the buzzer to give Grafton a 66-64 victory.
