WBCA announces Division 4 Boys Basketball All-State Team

Tyler Biadasz of Amherst, Peyton Dibble of Cameron, and Logan Rohrscheib of Regis headline the 2016 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division 4 All-State squad as the lone unanimous selections. Rohrscheib and Blake Ehrke of Deerfield are repeat First Team picks from a year ago.

Biadasz is a University of Wisconsin football recruit who creates havoc for opponents in the lane with his sheer size, not to mention his skill on the basketball court. The rugged 6-foot-4, 270-pound frontline performer leads state-bound Amherst in scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg) while also finishing second on the team in assists with 66. The four-year varsity performer has scored more than 1,000 points in his prep career.

Dibble is a versatile 6-6 guard/forward who signed a letter of intent with NCAA Division II Bemidji State last fall. He led Cameron to the title in the Central Division of the Lakeland Conference and a spot in the WIAA State Tournament by averaging 25.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg. He made 63 percent of his field-goal attempts, 80 percent of his foul shots and 50 percent (60 of 121) of his three-point shots.

Rohrscheib is a 6-2 wing guard who signed with NCAA Division II Minnesota-Duluth. The four-year varsity performer averaged 31.6 ppg and 2.4 apg while helping Regis to a 23-3 record. He finished his career with 2,014 points and set a Eau Claire city record with a 53-point outing in a WIAA sectional semifinal victory over Fall Creek.

Ehrke helped Deerfield to a 21-3 record and the championship of the Southern Division of the Trailways Conference. The 6-4 forward averaged 21.0 ppg, 13.5 rpg and 4.5 apg while shooting 60 percent from the field and 66 percent from the free throw line. He finished his four-year career scoring more than 1,600 points.

Chris Ancius of Aquinas turned in a terrific shooting season for the Blugolds, who qualified for the WIAA State Tournament despite an 11-11 regular-season record. The 6-5 senior wing player shot 50 percent from the field, 81 percent from the foul line and 47 percent (42 of 90) from three-point range while averaging 13.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

Isaac Anderson led Iowa-Grant to an unbeaten record and the league title in the Southwest Wisconsin Activities League. The 6-4 senior wing player averaged a team-high 20.2 ppg while helping his team to a 22-2 record. Anderson scored more than 1,000 points during his stellar four-year career with the Panthers.

Kostas Antetokounmpo is perhaps the most intriguing player in all of Wisconsin. The 6-11 senior forward, the younger brother of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, turned in a breakout season for a Dominican squad that is 25-1 entering the WIAA State Tournament. The long, athletic and skilled forward averaged 13.0 ppg and 7.1 rpg while blocking more than two shots per game. His potential and vast improvement have attracted the attention of several high-major NCAA Division I collegiate programs.

Logan Bader of Unity led his team to a 12-0 record and the title in the competitive Western Division of the Lakeland Conference. The four-year varsity performer and three-time first-team all-league performer is a physical 6-6 forward who can score in the paint and from the perimeter. He signed a letter of intent to play at Bemidji State last fall.

DeAndre Johns of Kenosha St. Joseph did a bit of everything for coach Jose Winston and the Lancers. The 6-1 junior combination guard averaged 21.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per outing while also shooting 45 percent from the field and 79 percent from the foul line. He averaged nearly eight trips to the free throw line and went over the 1,000-point mark for his three-year career.

Aaron Scafe was the leader for a Melrose-Mindoro team that went 22-0 during the regular season and 24-1 overall after falling to Aquinas in the WIAA playoffs. The 6-5 senior forward averaged 22.7 ppg for coach Dale Christopherson and scored a career-high 36 points in a 60-55 victory over Alma/Pepin.

Nathan Schmidt of Shiocton helped his team to a 17-7 record by averaging 24.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. The 6-2 junior guard and son of Shiocton coach Chad Schmidt is a three-year varsity performer who has scored 1,268 career points and had a career-high 37 in a victory over Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
