WSN 8-Man Football Awards

The WSN 8-Man Football Awards were launched in 2016 to recognize the outstanding players participating in reduced player football. Awards presented will be Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. All players are eligible regardless of grade level.

Each year, a preseason Watch List will be produced, then narrowed down to five finalists to be announced the week prior to the 8-Man Jamboree. Winners will be announced the week following the 8-Man Jamboree.

These awards are not associated with any conference nor the WFCA awards, and are presented independently by WisSports.net.

Offensive Player of the Year Finalists

Hunter Ebel, Sevastopol - Ebel did a little bit of everything for the Pioneers this season, throwing for 608 yards and 9 touchdowns, rushing for 448 yards and 3 scores, catching 3 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, and returning three kickoffs for touchdowns. The 6-1 senior was also a standout on defense with 5 interceptions.

Austin Hamack, Luck - The Cardinals once again featured one of the most powerful rushing attacks in the state, led by Hamack. The 5-7 senior has the second-most rushing touchdowns in all of 8-Man Football with 28, adding 10 two-point conversions as well. He has 1,197 yards on 146 carries this year, with a pair of punt return scores as well.

Obi Iwuagwu, Abundant Life/St. Ambrose - The versatile playmaker was an All-State pick last year and has been even better this season. Holding a scholarship offer from North Dakota, he averages 12 yards per rush and 23.9 yards per reception this year. He carried the ball 100 times for 1,197 yards and 17 touchdowns, catching 23 passes for 550 yards and 9 more scores.

Brady Mangen, Siren - Mangen has been one of the most productive players in the state this season for the Dragons. In just 8 games he produced 1,821 rushing yards with 28 touchdowns on 268 carries. He also caught a touchdown and threw a touchdown.

Mike Rhatican, Abundant Life/St. Ambrose - Rhatican teamed with Iwuagwu for the top offensive duo in the state and a big reason the Chargers are undefeated heading into the Jamboree. He completed 76 of 142 passes (53.5%) for 1,879 yards and 30 touchdowns, with just 3 interceptions. That equates to a 129.5 passer rating.
