His high school career is only a few games old, but Black River Falls freshman Elliot Bird made the biggest play of his career Friday night. In a Coulee Conference game against Luther, the Tigers trailed by two points with just a few seconds left on the clock, needing to go the length of the court to score. Bird caught the ball, took one dribble, and launched a shot from halfcourt just before the buzzer sounded. It kissed off the glass and through for a dramatic 77-76 victory. Bird finished with a career-high 16 points.
