Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of January 2 through 8. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: January 1-8

Sami Martin, Platteville girls basketball: Martin finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds in their win over previously unbeaten and D3 No. 8 Richland Center, 87-81. Sami went 12-for-15 from the floor and knocked down all three of her free throw attempts. Martin, a freshman, is averaging 15.5 points and 9 rebounds per game for the 8-3 Hillmen. 

Natalie McNeal, Germantown girls basketball: McNeal scored a game-high 26 points in their 75-55 win over top-ranked Arrowhead at the Al McGuire Center on Saturday. Natalie added 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal in the victory. The Warhawks, ranked No. 6 in the Division 1 WisSports.net Coaches, Poll, also earned wins over Cedarburg, 59-45, and Whitefish Bay, 61-45, last week. McNeal contributed 7 points and 9 rebounds in the Warhawks win over Cedarburg; she tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in their victory over Whitefish Bay. McNeal, a freshman, is averaging 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the 12-1 Warhawks. 

Koreem Ozier, Racine Case boys basketball: Ozier scored a career-high 50 points in the Eagles win over Kenosha Tremper, 85-47, on Friday. Koreem added 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the victory. The senior is averaging 32.7 points per game (3rd in the state) this season for the 5-2 Eagles. 

Nick Payne, Seneca boys basketball: Payne finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds in their 57-52 win against D3 No. 6 Columbus at JustAgame Fieldhouse on Saturday. The senior is averaging 18.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game for Seneca, 9-0 and ranked No. 7 in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll. 

Hunter Schwehr, Fox Cities boys hockey: Schwehr recorded a hat trick in the Stars win over the Brookfield Stars, 6-0, on Saturday. Hunter also added 2 assists in the victory. On Thursday, Schwehr finished with a goal and 3 assists in their win over Beaver Dam, 8-0. The senior leads the state in points (57) and is second in the state in scoring (32). The Stars are 14-1 this season and ranked No. 7 in the WisconsinPrepHockey.net Top 10.
