First place in the CWC-8 was on the line Tuesday night as league-leading Shiocton squared off with Amherst, who was in a tie for second. Amherst led by seven at halftime, but Shiocton came back, as the contest was tied at 55 with 10 seconds remaining.

Shiocton had the ball out of bounds on the sideline, and quickly got it into the hands of leading scorer Nathan Schimdt. Thanks to a crossover that sent his defender sprawling, Schmidt found himself open for a 17-footer, nailing it with one second remaining to give the Chiefs a 57-55 win and keep them alone atop the CWC-8 standings.
