Senior Estella Moschkau led Madison Edgewood to their first state title in program history, defeating Martin Luther 51-30 in the Division 3 state championship game.

Moschkau, who was named as the co-recipient of the 2017 Miss Basketball just a few hours earlier, finished with a game-high 20 points and added 7 rebounds for the Crusaders.

Madison Edgewood held a 19-11 halftime lead and wore down Martin Luther in the second half to earn the 21-point victory.

Bentley recruit Katie Meriggioli contributed 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks for Madison Edgewood. Junior Caitlin Link added 10 points for the Crusaders.

Madison Edgewood didn't shoot the ball all that well, finished 37 percent from the floor and made just 16 of their 30 free throws. They did, however, capitalize on Martin Luther's 17 turnovers, scoring 16 points while the Spartans scored just 6 points on the Crusaders 13 turnovers.

Martin Luther didn't have any players reach double-figures in the game; Senior Emily Hafemann and sophomore Emma Kallas each finished with 7 points to lead the Spartans.

Madison Edgewood win the Division 3 state championship in their second trip to the state tournament, last year they fell to eventual D3 champion Hayward in a state semi-final.

Attendance for the three-game D5/D4/D3 session was 6,692.
