Beloit Memorial battled through two tough games on Tuesday to secure its first spring baseball state tournament appearance since 1994.

Facing 2015 state champion and top-seeded Janesville Craig, who had beaten the Purple Knights twice during the regular season, Beloit got out to a 3-0 lead in the sectional semi-final, then held off a late Craig rally for a 3-2 victory.

Next up was Verona. This time around, things didn't go quite as planned for Beloit Memorial. Verona got on the board in the fourth inning when Tucker Teskey stole home, and it stayed 1-0 in favor of the Wildcats into the sixth inning.

That's when Beloit finally got something going, getting the tying run, followed by what proved to the winning run on a Corbin Quist single. Quist would pitch the final two innings of the game to earn the victory as Beloit Memorial won 2-1 in comeback fashion.
