Offense

Sam Mentkowski, Senior (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall), Wide Receiver of UW-Oshkosh
Mentkowski matched a career-high with 10 catches for 207 yards and two touchdowns during UW-Oshkosh’s 37-20 home win over UW-Whitewater on Sept. 30. Mentkowski gave UW-Oshkosh a 7-0 lead when he caught a pass near the Titan 45-yard line and raced to the end zone for a 96-yard pass play, the longest in UW-Oshkosh history. He then provided the Titans with a 30-20 advantage when he broke a pair of tackles and scored on a 53-yard pass play. Mentkowski, who compiled the fourth-highest receiving yards in UW-Oshkosh history, caught two passes for 103 yards in the first quarter, two for 17 yards in the second, three for 17 in the third and three for 70 in the fourth.

Defense
Brandon McKandes, Senior (Oconomowoc, Wis.), Defensive Line of UW-La Crosse
McKandes finished with five tackles, including 3.0 quarterback sacks, in UW-La Crosse's 35-13 win at UW-Stevens Point on Sept. 30. He also recorded one break-up. McKandes helped lead UW-La Crosse's defense in allowing UW-Stevens Point to finish with 175 yards of offense, including 88 rushing and 87 passing. The Eagles did not allow an offensive touchdown to the Pointers, while holding UW-Stevens Point to 10 first downs and finishing two-of-12 on third-down. UW-Stevens Point entered the game averaging 36.0 points and conference leading 532.7 yards of offense per game.

Johnson had a strong day returning kicks with 3 returns for 103 yards to help the No. 10-ranked Pioneers secure a 34-27 win over No. 22-ranked UW-Stout on Sept. 30. He finished with an average of 34.3 yards per return and provided a spark for the Pioneers with a 57-yard return in the third quarter to setup the offense with great field position. Offensivel,y Johnson added 8 catches for 71 yards and the game-winning touchdown reception.
