The WSN Team of the Week is back again for 2017. The voting this year is upgraded and is featured at the bottom of the article. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 p.m., so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word (hint:  Social Media is a great way to do so). Users may vote once per day.

Level 1 Team of the Week Nominees:

Kettle Moraine - In was an inauspicious start for head coach Justin Gumm's team, as Verona scored a quick touchdown to go up 7-0, then took advantage of a Kettle Moraine turnover to add a field goal for a 10-0 lead less than three minutes into the game. The Lasers stayed the course however, and Mike Timm scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns as Kettle Moraine would win 28-19 to advance to take on top-seeded and unbeaten Sun Prairie.

Laconia - Laconia was the only seven-seed to score a victory in Level 1, taking down second-seeded host Southern Door 26-14. Quarterback Cormac Madigan rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores, while the Spartans' defense picked off Southern Door's Derik LeCaptain three times, including a Pick-6 in the fourth quarter by Madigan to help seal the deal.

Pulaski - The sixth-seeded Red Raiders nearly put a running clock on host Appleton West on Friday, winning 40-6. Dylan Hendricks had another big game, rushing 34 times for 285 yards and 4 touchdowns, as Pulaski amassed 425 rushing yards as a team. Dustin Graf also threw a pair of touchdowns.

Stoughton - The Vikings picked up their first-ever playoff victory on Friday, defeating Badger-South rival Oregon 28-7. Stoughton got yet another huge day from running back Brady Schipper, who carried the ball 30 times for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns in just the team's fourth postseason appearance.

Valders - Valders tied for third in the tough Eastern Wisconsin Conference, and it proved to prepare them well for the postseason. The Vikings raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead on third-seeded Howards Grove before cruising home for a 41-14 victory. Michael Gesese-Elsenpeter went for 184 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, while quarterback Kyle Tuma completed eight of ten passes for 176 yards and three scores.
