Hunter Houde of Unity has been selected as the Level 2 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Eagles knock off top-seeded Melrose-Mindoro. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 2. A total of 3,183 votes were cast, as Houde's 1,051 were enough to edge second place Justin Parbs of Brookfield East, who tallied 770 votes.

Unity stayed alive in the Division 6 playoffs, knocking off top-seeded Melrose-Mindoro 34-31 thanks to a pair of fourth quarter scores from Houde. His 5-yard touchdown run put the Eagles ahead, and after Melrose-Mindoro re-took the lead, he returned the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for the game-winning touchdown in a 34-31 victory. Houde finished with 31 carries for 133 yards and 3 touchdowns, plus the kick return score.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
