The WSN Team of the Week is back again for 2017. The voting this year is upgraded and is featured at the bottom of the article. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 p.m., so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word (hint:  Social Media is a great way to do so). Users may vote once per day.

Level 3 Team of the Week Nominees:

Bangor - Something had to give on Friday as Edgar and Bangor, the top two teams in the WisSports.net Division 7 Coaches Poll all season, faced off in a titanic Level 3 tilt. The defenses dominated the day, as neither team hit 250 yards of offense. However, Bangor was more effective moving the ball, and a Theo Muellenberg touchdown run in the third quarter proved to be the game-winner as the Cardinals up-ended defending champion Edgar 16-8. Luke Reader finished with 115 rushing yards and a touchdown on 30 carries.

Brookfield Central - Each of the past three seasons, Brookfield Central beat crosstown rival Brookfield East in the regular season and earned a top seed in the playoffs. The past two years, East would get revenge in the postseason, including last year, when the Spartans would go on to claim the Division 2 state title. Central avoided a third straight playoff trip-up, dominating East 31-0. The Lancers defense continued its impressive run, limiting East to just 125 yards of offense. Drew Leszczynski threw for 292 yards and a score, adding a pair of rushing touchdowns.

Fall River - The Fall River Pirates had never made the WIAA postseason prior to 2011, and prior to this year had not gotten past Level 2. On the road against previously unbeaten Wild Rose, the Pirates made an 8-7 halftime lead hold up to claim victory in a low-scoring affair. Davyn Brake got the lone touchdown of the game for Fall River, as Sam Nelson went in for the two-point conversion.

Saint Croix Central - Defending state champion Saint Croix Central is on a postseason roll once again, and the Panthers dominated Bloomer 28-0 on Friday, limiting the vaunted Blackhawks' rushing attack to just 31 yards. It was a far cry from the 329 that Bloomer had put up against defending champion Osceola just a week earlier. The stifling Saint Croix Central defense was aided by a ball control offense that rushed for 349 yards and 4 touchdowns on 58 rush attempts. Ryan Larson led the way with 23 carries for 140 yards and a touchdown, while Collin Nelson added a pair of scores.

Waukesha West - Waukesha West had a couple chips on its shoulder coming into a Level 3 contest at Monona Grove. The Wolverines had lost at home to MG in Level 3 last year in a bit of a controversial ending. And despite going unbeaten in the Classic Eight Conference, the Wolverines got a two-seed and road game in Level 3. West took things out on the field Friday night, beating up on Monona Grove in a 28-7 victory. The Wolverine's ground attack racked up 275 yards and three touchdowns on 56 carries, led by Peter MacCudden's 163 yards. West held All-State quarterback Alec Ogden to just 8 of 18 passing and 162 total yards.
