John Chenal of Grantsburg has been selected as the Level 3 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Pirates advance to the state semi-finals against Amherst. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 3. A total of 4,981 votes were cast, as Chenal's 2,080 were enough to edge second place Jacob Heyroth of Lodi, who tallied 2,073 votes.

You name it and Chenal did it on Friday, as the multi-dimensional offensive threat was all over the field in a 40-7 victory over Elk Mound. he threw a 24-yard touchdown, rushed 19 times for 131 yards and a score, and caught two passes for 92 yards and a touchdown on offense. Defensively, he had 15 tackles and a pair of interceptions. He also punted three times, averaging 44 yards per punt.
