The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association has announced its All-State, Player of the Year, and Assistant Coach of the Year Awards for 2017. The WFCA Coach of the Year honor will be announced after the playoffs.

Kimberly running back D.J. Stewart was named the Offensive Player of the Year by the WFCA. While Kimberly has seen its share of blowouts this year, the Papermakers have had to grind out a few wins along the way. Stewart came up big in those games. Against Fond du Lac in Week 1, he scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns in a comeback victory, had 248 yards and the go-ahead score against Neenah, and posted 136 yards in a hard-fought victory over Appleton North. In total, the North Dakota State recruit has 2,104 yards and 26 touchdowns, after earning WFCA All-State recognition last season when he rushed for 1,857 yards and 32 scores.

Stewart's Kimberly teammate Boyd Dietzen, a senior defensive lineman, was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. Dietzen is a Wisconsin commit who earned First Team All-Conference, Defensive Lineman of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year recognition in the VFA-North as a senior. "Boyd is an extremely athletic defensive end," said head coach Steve Jones. "He is very physical, is incredibly quick off the ball, and plays with a high motor. I feel he is one of the best defensive players in the entire state." He has 61 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks as a senior in helping the Papermakers extend their state record winning streak to 69 games.

Jim Jacobsen of Brookfield East was chosen as the Assistant Coach of the Year.

Stewart, Catholic Memorial linebacker C.J. Goetz, Brookfield Central linebacker Reggie Jennings, Sun Prairie linebacker Marty Strey, and Menasha defensive back Trent Ingalls are repeat selections on the All-State team.
