Each week WSN will take a look at the happenings in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference, which includes many of the two-year campuses in the UW system. A look back at the big performances and news from the week before, a look ahead to some of the big games coming up, plus a Player of the Week will be featured.

Looking Back

There were just three games held over the holiday break, and all were high-scoring. Sheboygan hammered Barron 96-36, while Fond du Lac was all over Baraboo 91-67, as four players hit double figures. Washington won a close one against Marathon 92-88, as each team had five players score 10 or more points.

Heading into the second half of the season, Washington is comfortably on top of the East Division at 8-0. Rock leads the way in the West at 5-0.

Looking Ahead

Action gets underway again in a big way tonight with six games on the schedule. There should be a number of competitive contests.

Rock is unbeaten in league play, but the Rattlers must travel to Waukesha this evening. The Cougars dropped two straight games before the break, but by a combined three points.

In other action, Marathon travels to Manitowoc and Sheboygan welcomes in Baraboo. Barron and Fond du Lac have had their struggles this year, but one of them will get the new year started on the right track.

WCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Tobin Otte, UW-Fond du Lac

The Falcons picked up their first win of the season last Saturday, pulling away from Baraboo in a 91-67 victory. Tobin Otte was one of four players in double-figures for the Falcons, scoring 16 points. The first-year player from Dodgeland High School added a team-high 18 rebounds to go with 4 blocks and 3 assists.
