Each week WSN will take a look at the happenings in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference, which includes many of the two-year campuses in the UW system. A look back at the big performances and news from the week before, a look ahead to some of the big games coming up, plus a Player of the Week will be featured.

UW-Marathon continued its dominance of the WCC, topping Marinette 94-45 last Wednesday, as scoring machine Morgan Rachu (Marathon HS) poured in 34 points. The Huskies got a much tougher challenge from Bay College (MI) on Saturday. While Marathon was up 47-26 at halftime, Bay College cut it to a 10-point game heading into the fourth quarter, before Marathon pulled away for a 78-65 win. Rachu had 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 steals in the contest.

It was one of three games Bay College played against WCC teams last week, though the rest of the league didn't fare quite so well. Bay College beat Fond du Lac 87-38 last Wednesday before topping Manitowoc 56-31 on Sunday.

Once again, there are very few games on the schedule for the next week, though league-leading Marathon does have two games as of right now. Tonight, the Huskies are scheduled to host Barron, who plays as a club team. On Saturday, Marathon welcomes in Marinette.

Perhaps the most interesting game of the week pits second place Waukesha at third place Fond du Lac tonight. Waukesha scored a 78-71 home victory way back in November, as Hannah Bricco erupted for 30 points with 16 rebounds. Fond du Lac has dropped two straight games against very tough competition, UW-Marathon and Bay College (MI).

UW-Waukesha led Baraboo 49-28 at halftime on Saturday, as the Cougars seemed to be in complete control. However, Baraboo put together a furious second half rally, and it was all Waukesha could do just to hang on for a win, squeaking out a 78-76 victory. Justice Hawkins scored 19 points, just below her season average, but the Wauwatosa West graduate handed out 14 assists to go with 4 rebounds and 4 steals in the win.
