The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

We begin our WSN15 boys' basketball series with the Top 15 Moments of the WSN Era.

On March 19th, 2005, Randolph senior forward Ryan Tillema accomplished something unique to boys' high school basketball players in the history of the sport in Wisconsin.

Scoring 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, Tillema led Randolph to a 55-37 victory over Lourdes Academy of Oshkosh in the WIAA Division 4 state championship game played at the Kohl Center in Madison.

In the process, the 6-foot-7 four-year varsity performer became the first player to compete on teams that captured four consecutive state-basketball championships.

That feat has since been matched by Diamond Stone of Dominican, but Tillema was the pioneer in terms of most state championships won in succession.

As a freshman in 2002, the future standout at UW-Green Bay scored eight points off the bench as Randolph downed Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 52-35 in the D4 title game. Future University of Wisconsin and NBA center Greg Stiemsma (6-11) had nine points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocked shots to lead the Rockets, who finished 25-2 under coach Bob Haffele.

A year later, Randolph again went 25-2 under Haffele and defeated Seneca 63-37 in the title game as Tillema scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Stiemsma added 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots while Bruce Waterworth contributed 19 points. Current Randolph coach Tyler Fischer had seven points and six rebounds in the contest.

As a junior, Tillema and Stiemsma were dominant as they went 26-0 and beat Hilbert 52-50 in an extremely physical D4 title game. Tillema had 20 points and 12 rebounds while Stiemsma was held to six points, two rebounds and five blocked shots by the physical play of the Hilbert frontline players.

Four titles in four years is a state record that was tied in 2015 and then broken in 2016 by the Stone-led Dominican teams.

Randolph boasted a 59-game winning streak from 2003-05 and Haffele, who retired in 2013, owns more state championships (10) than any other boys' coach in state hoops history.
