The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

The WSN15 boys' basketball series continues with the Top 15 Teams of the WSN Era.

Kaukauna High School's 2015-16 boys' basketball team absolutely demolished the competition at the regional, sectional and state levels during the WIAA playoffs.

Coach Mike Schalow guided the Ghosts to a 20-2 regular season, including a 16-2 mark and the title of the Fox Valley Association.

And then when the postseason hit, Kaukauna simply played at a whole different level.

The Ghosts defeated Green Bay Southwest by 34 and Seymour by 20 in home regional games before downing Pulaski by 17 and Cedarburg by 22 at the sectional level to earn the school's third trip to the WIAA State Tournament.

Against a very good La Crosse Central in the Division 2 state semifinals, Kaukauna registered a 27-points victory (72-45) behind 47 percent shooting from the field and 31 points from sophomore Jordan McCabe (5-11).

Senior forward Marcus Moreau (6-4) was dominant in the post for the Ghosts, scoring eight points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

In the state-title contest, Kaukauna blew open a 33-20 halftime lead and breezed to a whopping 29-point victory (91-62) over Waunakee to set a Division 2 record for the largest point spread in a championship game.

The Ghosts shot 52 percent from the floor against Waunakee and had 19 assists on 35 baskets.

McCabe had 24 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead Kaukauna, which finished the campaign with a 26-2 record.

Junior Adam Smith (6-2) added 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists while Moreau again was dominant in the paint, scoring 18 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

In addition to shooting 52 percent from the field, Kaukauna connected on 88 percent (14 of 16) of its foul shots as its torrid shooting was simply too much to overcome.

Kaukauna defeated its six WIAA playoff opponents by an average of 24.8 points per game.
