Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Wing Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 16 semi-finalists, and six finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. 

Brehna Evans, West De Pere -- Evans, an honorable mention WBCA all-state pick last season, is averaging 22.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.8 steals per game for the Phantoms. The NCAA Division II St. Cloud State recruit has led West De Pere to a 20-5 overall record and helped them defeat Bay Conference foe Seymour in a sectional semi-final. The Phantoms face Beaver Dam on Saturday in a sectional final. 

Erin Howard, Madison East -- Howard, a WBCA all-state selection last season, is averaging 17.2 points per game for the Purgolders this season. The Auburn recruit and Big Eight Player of the Year has led Madison East to a Division 1 sectional final against Mukwonago on Saturday after they knocked off Sun Prairie in a sectional semi-final. 

Jayda Jansen, Sun Prairie -- Jansen, a WBCA all-state pick last season, averaged 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Cardinals this season. The NCAA Division II Maryville recruit was named first team all-Big Eight and led Sun Prairie to the league title and 22-3 record. 

Madelyn Neff, Hayward -- Neff, a WBCA all-state selection last season, is averaging 14.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3 steals per game for the Hurricanes. The NCAA Division I Richmond recruit led Hayward to a 22-3 record this season. The Hurricanes face Wisconsin Dells in a Division 3 sectional final on Saturday. 

Maggie Negaard, Stevens Point -- Negaard averaged 18.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game for the Panthers. The NCAA Division I Drake recruit was named co-Player of the Year in the Wisconsin Valley after leading them to a share of the league title. Negaard missed the majority of her junior year recovering from an ACL injury. 

Hailey Oskey, Seymour -- Oskey, an honorable mention WBCA all-state pick last season, averaged 18.6 points, 6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game for the Thunder. The NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay recruit led Seymour to an undefeated Bay Conference record and a trip to D2 sectional play before falling to conference foe West De Pere.
