Defending state champion Athens pegged as preseason favorite in Division 4 baseball rankings
Athens captured its first baseball state title in 35 years last season, topping Independence/Gilmanton 2-0 in the championship game.
The Bluejays bring back a wealth of talent from that team, and it is no surprise to see Athens as the top-ranked team in the Baseball Wisconsin Yearbook Pre-Season Division 4 Rankings.
Rounding out the top five are Ithaca, Independence/Gilmanton, Clear Lake, and Pecatonica.
