Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list previously was trimmed to 15 semi-finalists, and now five finalists for the award have been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

Senior Boys Basketball Awards -- Defense Finalists

Jordan Dinsmore, 6-2, Milwaukee Washington -- While Deontay Long and Michael Foster Jr. do most of the heavy lifting for coach Freddie Riley on the offensive end of the court, Dinsmore does the dirty work for the Purgolders on defense. The first-team all-Milwaukee City Conference performer is long, moves well and puts forth strong effort on both ends of the court, traits that have earned him a NCAA Division I scholarship offer from Montana State.

Logan Krekling, 6-2, The Prairie School -- The St. Norbert College recruit isn't a huge scorer (7.5 ppg), but he is absolutely vital to the success of The Prairie School thanks to his passing (5.6 ppg), rebounding (5.9 rpg), ball handling and defense. Because Krekling has good size and length, he often is charged with guarding the opponent's top perimeter play by coach Jason Atanasoff.

Eric Reinemann, 6-5, Howards Grove -- The Player of the Year in the Big East Conference, Reinemann is a do-everything type of player for Howards Grove coach Wade Georgeff. He can definitely score, both from the perimeter and in the paint, and leads the Tigers in that department at 17.9 ppg. He can also use his size and physical strength to crash the boards as he is averaging 9.5 rpg. The St. Norbert College recruit is equally valuable on defense as he can guard opponents along the baseline and away from the basket.

Mason Steffen, 6-3, Waunakee -- Steffen is a four-year varsity player for Waunakee and his style of play personifies the way coach Dana MacKenzie wants his clubs to play. In other words, Steffen brings a huge amount of toughness -- both mental and physical -- to the Warriors' lineup each night. His physical strength and athleticism allow him to guard multiple positions, a definite asset for the Badger North Conference champions. Steffen will play college basketball at NCAA Division II Minnesota-Duluth.

Cordell Tinch, 6-2, Bay Port -- Few players in the state possess more natural athleticism than Tinch, who plans to attend the University of Minnesota on a track and field scholarship in the fall. The ultra-athletic wing player leads Bay Port in blocked shots (28) and dunks (31) while also contributing 13.4 ppg and 4.5 rpg. His ability to block and alter shots is a main strength for a Bay Port squad that won the Fox River Classic Conference title under coach Nate Rykal.
