Arrowhead's Caitlyn Harper selected as the top senior Post

Arrowhead's Caitlyn Harper has been selected as the top senior Post as part of the WSN Basketball Awards

Harper, a 6-foot-1 forward, was chosen as the co-player of the year in the Classic Eight this season, leading the Warhawks to a share fo the league title.

She is strong around the basket and runs the floor well. Caitlyn has a variety of post moves and can also step out and knock down a three-pointer. 

The California Baptist recruit is averaging 15.2 points and 7 rebounds per game for coach Rick Witte and the Warhawks. 

She shoots over 50 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the free throw line. 

Harper scored a career-high 32 points in an 83-60 win over Milwaukee King on January 26. She made three triples in that game and went 5 of 6 from the free throw line. 

She has helped Arrowhead reach the state tournament this season, its 10th overall trip to state. 

The Warhawks, 24-2, earned the top-seed at state and face defending Division 1 state champion Appleton North on Friday evening in a semifinal. 

Last season, she was voted honorable mention WBCA all-state and helped Arrowhead to a 20-4 record. 

Finalists for the award were Harper, Savanna Crockett of Milwaukee Vincent, Sydney Flier of Waupun, Brooke Olson of Rice Lake, and Heather Pearson of Amherst. 

Past winners of the award include Sidney Cooks of Kenosha St. Joseph (2017), Grace Mueller of Verona (2016), Megan Gustafson of South Shore (2015), Jessica Lindstrom of Superior (2014), Breanna Lewis of Milwaukee Riverside (2013), and Heather Bowe of Regis (2012).
