WBCA announces Division 1 Girls Basketball All-State Team

Four players headlined 2018 Division 1 WBCA All-State Team as unanimous selections: Natalie Anderson of Mukwonago, Caitlyn Harper of Arrowhead, Sydney Levy of Appleton North, and Sydnee Roby of Milwaukee King. 

Roby, Levy, Erin Howard of Madison East, and Jayda Jansen of Sun Prairie were all repeat first-team selections on the all-state team. 

Anderson helped lead Mukwonago to a state runner-up finish and was chosen as the co-player of the Year in at the Classic Eight. The junior and Division I prospect averaged 17 points per game for the Indians who finished the year with a 25-3 record. Natalie was a member of the Indians' state runner-up team as a freshman. 

Harper, who shared Classic Eight Player of the Year honors with Anderson, led the Warhawks to a trip to the Resch Center. The senior and NCAA Division I California Baptist recruit averaged 15.3 points per game for coach Rick Witte and the Warhawks who finished the year with a 24-3 record. 

Levy led Appleton North to its second consecutive state championship. The UW-Milwaukee recruit averaged 18.9 points per game for coach Joseph Russom and the Lightning (24-4). The senior ends her career as the program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder. 

Roby led Milwaukee King to a 20-5 record and was chosen co-player of the year in the Milwaukee City-Gold. The Division I prospect averaged 17 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.7 blocks per game for coach Craig Machut and the Generals who reached a sectional final. 

Howard led Madison East to a sectional final and 19-7 record. The Auburn recruit averaged 17 points per game and was named Big Eight Player of the Year for coach James Adams and the Purgolders. 

Jansen led Sun Prairie to a 22-3 record and sectional appearance. The Maryville recruit averaged 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game for coach John Olson and the Cardinals. The senior ended her career as the program's all-time leading scorer. 

Kari Brekke helped Appleton North win back-to-back state titles. The senior and NCAA Division I New Hampshire recruit averaged 12.4 points per game for coach Joseph Russom and the Lightning who finished the year with a 24-4 record. 

Julia Hartwig of Janesville Parker led the Vikings to a sectional appearance and 10-15 record. The junior and UW-Green Bay recruit averaged 17.3 points per game for coach and mother Jennah Hartwig. 

Natalie McNeal of Germantown earned Greater Metro Player of the Year honors. The sophomore averaged 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.2 steals per contest for coach Matt Stuve and the Warhawks who finished the year with a 16-8 record. 

Maggie Negaard led Stevens Point (22-3) to a share of the Wisconsin Valley title and earned co-player of the year in the league. The Drake recruit averaged 18.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game for coach Kraig Terpstra and the Panthers who reached sectional play. 

Taylor Petit shared player of the year honors in the Wisconsin Valley with Negaard. The Youngstown State recruit averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game for coach Matt Bullis and the Evergreens (19-5).
