Stevens Point's Drew Blair has been selected as the top senior Shooter as part of the WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards.

The Player of the Year in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, Blair was perhaps the state's most consistent performer throughout the 2017-18 season.

Blair averaged 28.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the three-time defending WIAA Division 1 state champions while playing all but one game this winter without his trusted sidekick, Joey Hauser. Hauser was lost for the season after the opener against Rhinelander due to ankle surgery.

Blair shot a remarkable 57 percent from the floor, 87 percent from the foul line and 31 percent from three-point range for the Panthers, who finished the season with a 20-6 record under coach Scott Anderson.

Blair is headed to defending NCAA Division II national champion Northwest Missouri State in the fall on a basketball scholarship.

Finalists for the award were Blair, Ethan Anderson of Black River Falls, John Diener of Cedarburg, Jaxon Knotek of River Falls and Jack Gohlke of Pewaukee.

Past winners of the award include Ryan Krueger of Hortonville (2017), Trev Anderson of Stevens Point (2016), Brevin Pritzl of De Pere (2015), Brady Ellingson of Sussex Hamilton (2014), Matt Thomas of Onalaska (2013), and Tyson Kalien of Chippewa Falls (2012).

WSN Senior Basketball Awards are selected by WisSports.net staff.
