Beaver Dam freshman Maty Wilke has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of March 5 through 11 after a vote on WSN. 

There were 3,238 votes this week; Wilke received 1,563 votes, while Mia Morel of Marshall finished second with 1,380. 

Wilke helped Beaver Dam capture the Division 2 state championship, its second straight state title.

She finished with a game-high 16 points, and added 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists in the Golden Beavers' 51-41 win over New Berlin Eisenhower in the title game.

Wilke led all scorers with 19 points, and also contributed 8 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 assists in Beaver Dam's win over Hortonville, 54-43, in a state semifinal.

The freshman and Division I prospect averaged 12.3 points per game for the Golden Beavers who finished the year 25-2 overall and went undefeated against in-state opponents.
