Ryan Steffes of New Holstein wins 2018 WIAA Boys 3-Point Challenge

Senior Ryan Steffes of New Holstein won the 2018 WIAA Boys 3-Point Challenge at the Kohl Center in Madison on Saturday morning.

10 participants were selected for the event based on stats information entered by coaches into the WisSports.net database. The top two three-point shooters (minimum 75 attempts) from each division were chosen to participate.

It was an incredible display by the participants, including Steffes, who hit 23 in the first round, 23 in the semi-finals, and 22 in the finals. He defeated Drew Severson of Eleva-Strum (18) in the finals. Blake Pedrin of Howards Grove and Trey Zastrow of Manitowoc Lutheran were also in the semi-finals. Zastrow made a new contest-record 27 points in the opening round.

Other competitors included Bennett Laubenstein of De Pere, Kyle Abatto of Kettle Moraine, Sam Kick of Onalaska, Zac Johnson of River Falls, Caleb Cracyalny of Clinton, and Drew Haffner of Gresham.
