The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

The WSN15 boys' basketball series continues with the Top 15 Players of the WSN Era.

Bronson Koenig burst onto the high school basketball scene as a freshman at Aquinas High School in La Crosse during the 2009-10 season.

And from the very beginning, the talented point guard showed he would become a special player in the state as his court vision, ball handling and shooting were far advanced for such a young player.

Scoring 15 points in his second varsity game -- a 68-67 road win at rival La Crosse Central -- Koenig upped his production to 22 points in a 47-45 triumph over Holmen in his third varsity outing.

Koenig's high school career continued to traject upward over the next three seasons as he helped Aquinas to WIAA Division 3 state championships as a sophomore (2010-11) and senior (2012-13).

The 6-foot-3 backcourt performer earned Player of the Year honors from the Associated Press as a senior when he averaged 17.0 points and 4.6 assists while shooting 46 percent (40 of 88) from three-point range for coach Rick Schneider and the Blugolds.

In the Division 3 state-title game against Lodi, Koenig finished with 16 points and five assists as the Blugolds won their second crown in three years and fourth overall since joining the WIAA in the fall of 2000.

Koenig finished his prep career with more than 1,450 points and earned first-team all-state laurels from the Associated Press as a senior and sophomore. Koenig missed all but 11 games during his junior campaign due to an injury.

Turning down scholarship offers from Duke, Kansas and North Carolina, among others, Koenig opted to stay home and play for coach Bo Ryan at the University of Wisconsin.

During his strong four-year career with the Badgers, Koenig started 94 games and played in 148 while setting the school record for most three-point shots made with 270. He was a key player on Wisconsin's Final Four teams in both 2014 and 2015.

Koenig spent the 2017-18 season playing for the Grand Raipds Drive squad in the G-League.
