The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

The WSN15 boys' basketball series continues with the Top 15 Players of the WSN Era.

Few players in Wisconsin high school basketball history generated the consistent buzz of Jordan McCabe.

During his four years of prep hoops at Kaukauna High School, the 6-foot-0 point guard dazzled crowds throughout the state with his magical ball handling, passing and shooting skills.

Massive attendance figures often were set when McCabe stepped onto the court, and his following from grade school and middle school admirers may be unmatched in state history.

And while McCabe almost always delivered a memorable performance, his patience and willingness to sign autographs and take photos with fans after the games was at times equally impressive.

McCabe saved one of his most impressive showings for the final minutes of Kaukauna's WIAA Division 2 state-title game last month with Milwaukee Washington.

Trailing 71-68 with 1:12 left, McCabe came down the court and drilled a three-point basket from the right wing.

After Washington took a 73-71 advantage on the other end, McCabe again came down the floor and drilled a triple, this time from the left wing.

Washington's Deontay Long then made a foul shot to tie the game at 74. With time winding down, McCabe used a ball screen from Dylan Kurey, drove to his left, and then arched a layup over the outstretched arms of 6-foot-9 Washington defender Michael Foster with two seconds left to give the Ghosts their second state title of the past three seasons.

McCabe had missed on 23 of 30 field-goal attempts and 14 of 19 three-point field goal tries prior to his final three shots. But the savvy lead guard had the confidence to take those three shots with the game on the line.

McCabe completed his prep career with 2,442 points, 702 assists, 492 rebounds and 243 steals. Only five players in state history scored more points than McCabe, who earned the Mr. Basketball award from the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association and the Player of the Year honor from the Associated Press.

McCabe received some recruiting interest from both Marquette and Wisconsin, but opted to commit to West Virginia and coach Bob Huggins prior to the start of his junior season.
