Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of April 2 through 8. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: April 2-8

Amari Brown, Milwaukee King girls track & field: Brown finished first in the 55-meter dash (6.95) and 400 meter dash (57.24) at the WTFA state indoor championships hosted by UW-Whitewater over the weekend. The sophomore sits atop the state leaderboard in the 55-meter dash this season, according to the Wisconsin Girls Track & Field Honor Roll

Bre Caminata, Johnson Creek softball: Caminata went 2-for-3 at the plate with a two triples and a pair of RBI to help defeat Catholic Central, 5-4, on Saturday. The Bluejays trailed 3-0 to start the game and scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th to earn the walk-off victory. 

Cordell Tinch, Bay Port boys track & field: Tinch was named the most outstanding athlete at the WTFA state indoor championships hosted by UW-Whitewater over the weekend. Tinch placed first in the 55-meter hurdles (7.38), high jump (6-07.00) and long jump (24-03.50), and finished second in the triple jump (46-09.50). The senior is a University of Minnesota football and track and field commit. 

Emma Richards, Ozaukee track & field: Richards placed first in the shot put at the WTFA state indoor championships hosted by UW-Whitewater. Her throw of 46 feet, 3.5 inches is the best in meet history. The previous best of 46 feet, 3 inches was set by Julie Beck of Tomah in 1990. The senior is a NCAA Division II Grand Valley State commit. 

Mitchell Welsh, Highland baseball: Welsh went 2-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI in the Cardinals' 9-3 win over Cuba City on Monday. He also pitched one inning in the victory. On Thursday, Welsh pitched the final three innings of the game and earned the win in the Cardinals 6-3 win against Boscobel. At the plate, the senior went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in the contest.
