Fond du Lac sophomore Abby Freismuth has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of May 21 through 27 after a vote on WSN. 

There were 1,788 votes this week; Freismuth received 723 votes, and Jaida Speth of Delavan-Darien finished second with 652. 

Freismuth led the Cardinals to a 5-3 upset win against top-ranked Oshkosh North in a WIAA Division 1 regional final on Thursday, 5-3.

Abby finished with 6 strikeouts in the circle, including three in the 7th inning. The final strikeout came with the tying runs on base for Oshkosh North who had not lost to a Wisconsin team prior to the contest.

Fond du Lac finished the season with an 11-13 record.
