The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

We begin our WSN15 girls' basketball series with the Top 15 Moments of the WSN Era.

In the first year with the girls basketball state tournament in Green Bay, the Kewaunee Storm defeated East Troy, 60-58, in a thriller to claim the 2013 Division 3 state title.

With the game tied at 58 with 15 seconds remaining, Amanda Kudick found Jill Kleiman on the right wing and she drove to the basket and found Alex Richard whose shot rattled around before dropping through with one second remaining. (Video Below)

East Troy coach Jeff Brown tried calling a timeout immediately after the basket, but wasn't granted a timeout and he understandably voiced his frustration as the officials were leaving the court.

Kewaunee overcame an early 13-point deficit in the game and outscored East Troy 20-14 in the fourth quarter to capture its second consecutive Division 3 state title.

The Storm became the first repeat Division 3 champion since Cuba City won three consecutive titles from 2005-07.

Coach Lynn Geier also guided Kewaunee to a Division 3 state runner-up finish in 2011.

Kelsey Stangel finished with a game-high 27 points and added 10 rebounds and 4 steals for the Storm. Richard tallied 16 points and 4 rebounds in the win.

East Troy was led by Rachel Atkinson who finished with 21 points, including a three-pointer that tied the game at 58 with less than 40 seconds left. Breanna Gaspervich tallied 13 points, 4 assists and 4 steals for the Trojans.

Richard went on to play for coach Brad Fischer at UW-Oshkosh where they reached the NCAA Tournament all four seasons. She finished her college career with 829 points.

Another notable player from the game who went on to have a stellar college career was Gaspervich who scored 1,028 points at NCAA Division II Northern Michigan University, playing for coach Troy Mattson.
