The WSN15 series will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of WisSports.net by looking back at the top players, teams, and moments of the past 15 years (2003-2017).

We begin our WSN15 girls' basketball series with the Top 15 Moments of the WSN Era.

When Flambeau cruised to a 61-36 win over St. Mary Catholic in the 2008 Division 4 state championship game they became just the third team in state history to capture three consecutive state titles.

In the championship game the Falcons dominated points in the paint, scoring 44 and allowing just 14. Lindsey Brost netted a game-high 17 points and added 8 rebounds and 4 steals to lead Flambeau. Susan Bischoff tallied 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Beth Alberson contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the win.

The Falcons' defensive pressure was too much for Eleva-Strum in their 57-40 state semifinal victory. They scored 36 points off of the Cardinals' 29 turnovers. Brost scored a game-high 16 points to lead Flambeau. They also got 11 points each from Alberson, Whitney Verdegan and Shelby Sterba.

The 2007 Division 4 state title game against Barneveld featured two of the winningest coaches in girls' basketball state history. Flambeau coach Ted Alberson finished his career with a 502-79 record (14th most wins all-time) and Barneveld coach Jim Myers has the most wins all-time with 699 against 138 losses, both are in the WBCA Hall of Fame.

The Falcons' pressure got the best of the Golden Eagles in the 53-44 win. Barneveld turned it over 32 times which led to 28 points off turnovers for Flambeau. Alberson and Verdegan each netted 15 points in the win.

In state semifinals, Flambeau avenged its only loss of the season with a 40-37 victory against Newman Catholic who was guided by WBCA Hall of Fame coach Tom Weinkauf. Bischoff scored a team-high 10 points for the Falcons.

In the first of the three consecutive state titles, Flambeau jumped out to a 16-8 first quarter lead and defeated Newman Catholic, 44-31, in the 2006 Division 4 state championship game. Karleen Ellwanger led the Falcons with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Kayla Verdegan added 12 points in the victory.

The Falcons edged Rio in a state semifinal that season, 61-54. The two teams combined to turn the ball over 49 times, but Flambeau was able to capitalize the most, outscoring Rio 26-11 in points off turnovers. Kayla Verdegan tallied a team-high 14 points, while Ellwanger and Alberson finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Flambeau posted a 77-3 record over the three state title seasons. The Falcons' only losses came against Newman Catholic (twice) and Regis.
