We asked, you voted. The results of our poll on who you think will win state titles in each of the seven divisions plus 8-Man.

Division 1:  Not surprisingly, five-time defending champion Kimberly dominated the voting, with the Papermakers 656 of 1,167 votes.

Division 2:  Last year's state finalists, Waunakee and Brookfield Central, dominated the voting, but defending champion Waunakee gets the edge with 303 of 1,121 votes.

Division 3:  Catholic Memorial has been a consistent contender and received 436 out of 1,052 votes.

Division 4:  Division 4 has been the toughest to predict for a while, and four different teams received more than 100 votes. It was defending champion Lodi who got the most with 201 out of 1,046 total submissions.

Division 5:  Amherst is a three-time defending state champion in D5, but the Falcons aren't the pre-season favorite from the fans, who give the edge to last season's Division 6 champion Saint Mary's Springs, who has a good chance to end up in D5. The Ledgers got 364 of 960 votes.

Division 6:  With defending champion Saint Mary's Springs projected to move up to D5, the Division 6 voting was close between several teams, including runner-up Iola-Scandinavia, but it is Grantsburg who gets the edge with 244 of 966 votes.

Division 7:  In a bit of an upset, defending champion Bangor wasn't the fan favorite, as that designation goes to Edgar, who received 313 of 870 votes.

8-Man: This will mark the first year of an official 8-Man Football playoff, and powerhouse Luck gets the early edge, receiving 186 of 709 votes.

Thanks to all who participated, and in just over 3 months we'll find out if you were right!

VOTE FOR WHO YOU THINK WILL WIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ALL SEVEN DIVISIONS PLUS 8-MAN!

Happy football everyone! Today teams begin practice around the state, with every group sharing a similar goal:  hoist a gold ball as state champion.

As the season gets underway, it's time for you, the fans, to vote for who you think will win state titles in each of the WIAA's seven divisions plus 8-Man Football. The top ten in each division (sorted alphabetically) of the WisSports.net Off-Season Rankings are included, but those certainly aren't the only ones that could, or will, win championships. If you think it will be someone off the list, sound off in the comments below. We'll leave the voting open through Thursday at noon.
