Week 2 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Please note, divisional placement in our poll is based on our Enrollment Projections done earlier this year. Divisional placement in the WIAA playoffs is not determined until after the season and these projections can and will be different than the divisions at the end of the year. We have added an 8-Man Coaches Poll this season.

Division 1

Fond du Lac remains the #1-ranked team in Division 1, with Kimberly right behind. Appleton North fell to Neenah last week, causing a shake-up, as the Lightning are now seventh and the Rockets fifth. Appleton North takes on top-ranked Fond du Lac this week in one of the state's premier games.

Division 2

Brookfield Central is a near-unanimous #1 team in the Division 2 rankings once again, with defending champion Waunakee right behind. After going down to Marquette in Week 2, Brookfield East slips from fourth to eighth this week. Kettle Moraine's loss at the hands of Mukwonago drops the Lasers from sixth to a tie for tenth with Burlington, coming off a big win over Racine Horlick.

Division 3

Catholic Memorial is again the top-ranked team in Division 3 by a good margin, though New Berlin Eisenhower has slid ahead of defending D3 champion Rice Lake for the #2 spot. Seymour moves into the rankings after Pewaukee's shutout loss to Eisenhower dropped them out of the poll.

Division 4

Saint Croix Central rolled up more than 500 yards while limiting Elk Mound to just 108 yards of offense, solidifying their spot atop Division 4. Lodi, Martin Luther, Bloomer, and Racine St. Catherine's round out the top five. Wrightstown makes a jump into the poll at #7, while Northwestern enters in the tenth spot after knocking off Osceola.

Division 5

The Game of the Week didn't turn out to be much of a game, as Saint Mary's Springs dominated in a 34-0 victory over Amherst. Springs ascends to the top spot in D5, while Amherst falls from #1 to #4 this week. Elk Mound falls out of the rankings after getting hammered by Saint Croix Central, while Bonduel drops out as well. New teams in the poll this week are Valders and Stratford.

Division 6

Iola-Scandinavia remains the #1-ranked team in the Division 6 WisSports.net Coaches Poll, followed by Grantsburg. Regis got a couple first-place votes but settles in at #3. Dodgeland is the only new team in this week's rankings, entering at #10.

Division 7

Edgar, Bangor, and Black Hawk are the top three in the rankings once again, as the trio spent most of last season in those spots in some order as well. Black Hawk is fresh off a 14-7 win over fourth-ranked Potosi/Cassville, which caused the Chieftains co-op program to slip to sixth this week. Ithaca, Royall, and Elmwood/Plum City all drop out after suffering losses this week, as Pittsville, Pepin/Alma, and Turtle Lake enter into the rankings.

8-Man Football

It is Luck once again on top of the 8-Man Football poll, with the top four in the rankings all getting significant support. Of note, second-ranked Newman Catholic hosts fourth-ranked Sevastopol this Thursday in a big-time game. Wisconsin Heights is officially 3-0, though the Vanguards did drop a non-counting game earlier in the year to Sevastopol on the football field.
