Week 3 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Week 2 WisSports.net Coaches Poll
Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Please note, divisional placement in our poll is based on our Enrollment Projections done earlier this year. Divisional placement in the WIAA playoffs is not determined until after the season and these projections can and will be different than the divisions at the end of the year. We have added an 8-Man Coaches Poll this season.

Division 1

Not a ton changes in the Week 3 poll, as Fond du Lac remains a unanimous top pick of the coaches. Neenah did narrowly jump Franklin for the fourth spot after beating Appleton North last week. The Lightning dropped out of the poll, allowing Janesville Craig to enter at #10.

Division 2

Brookfield Central continues to dominate the Division 2 Coaches Poll, with Waunakee again at #2 after dismantling Mount Horeb/Barneveld last week. The strength of the division is evidenced by an unbeaten Menomonie team along with very good clubs like Kettle Moraine, Waukesha West, Brookfield East, Superior, and West De Pere all out of the rankings currently.

Division 3

Catholic Memorial is again the clear top team in the rankings, though the Crusaders have a huge test coming up this week against Muskego. The top five sees no changes, but every team ranked sixth through tenth lost last week. Only Mount Horeb/Barneveld remains in the rankings at #9. New teams in the poll this week are McFarland, East Troy, Plymouth, and New Berlin West. Of note, East Troy and McFarland play each other this week in a huge Rock Valley Conference game.

Division 4

Saint Croix Central is #1 in the Week 3 rankings, followed again by Lodi and Martin Luther. There were only other minor changes in the rankings this week, as no teams suffered defeat last week and thus none dropped out of the poll or moved in.

Division 5

Saint Mary's Springs is a unanimous #1 team in the division once again, with a very strong group behind the Ledgers. Lake Country Lutheran, Spencer/Columbus Catholic, Amherst, and Cedar Grove-Belgium round out the top five. After ending Sheboygan Falls' 22-game Eastern Wisconsin Conference winning streak last week, New Holstein cracks the top ten at #8.

Division 6

The Division 6 rankings remain relatively fractured, though Iola-Scandinavia is again #1 this week. Grantsburg and Regis each got at least one first-place vote. Abbotsford was fourth, but a loss to Marathon dropped the Falcons out of the rankings altogether. New teams this week are Wauzeka/Seneca, Melrose-Mindoro, and Mineral Point.

Division 7

The top of the Division 7 rankings remain unchanged, as Edgar is first, followed by defending champion Bangor. Pepin/Alma and Turtle Lake suffered losses and dropped out of the rankings, allowing unbeatens Reedsville and Johnson Creek to move in at #9 and #10, respectively.

8-Man Football

It was a close vote, but Newman Catholic narrowly edged ahead of Luck for the top spot in the 8-Man Football poll. Newman got past previously #4 Sevastopol, 26-6 last week. Sevastopol dropped to tenth this week.
