WisSports.net Week 4 Player of the Week Nominees:

Seth Kohel, River Falls - River Falls got a huge statement victory with a 25-18 decision over defending Big Rivers Conference champion Menomonie on Friday night. The Wildcats found themselves down 18-0 in the second quarter, but kept chipping away. Kohel scored the first of two touchdowns with less than a minute to go in the first half, as River Falls scored the final 25 points of the game. Kohel finished with 172 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 28 carries, adding a four-yard touchdown pass in addition to a nine-yard reception.

Nick Nielson, Peshtigo - Nielson wasn't the starting quarterback to begin the year, but after Jared Jandt was lost for the season with injury after Week 2, he stepped in and has delivered. In a 33-30 win over rival Coleman, Nielson completed 13-of-22 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns, adding 23 carries for 70 yards and a score on the ground as well.

Dryden Schaefer, Madison Memorial - Memorial finds itself alone atop the Big Eight standings after a thrilling 30-27 win over Middleton on the road Friday night. Middleton led 27-17 late in the fourth quarter, but Memorial wouldn't give up. Schaefer caught a 26-yard touchdown pass to cut into the lead, and hauled in a 27-yarder on a Hail Mary as time expired for the victory. They were the only two catches of the game for Schaefer, but they were huge plays. Video of the game-winning play can be seen by clicking here.

Derek Schwarting, McFarland - The Spartans haven't been to the playoffs since the 2014 campaign, but they need just one more victory to secure their spot this season. Not only that, the team is alone in first place in the Rock Valley Conference after a 48-27 victory over East Troy to christen their new turf field. Schwarting rebounded from an early interception to throw six touchdowns in the game, four coming after halftime as McFarland broke open what had been a 20-20 tie. He'd finished with 382 yards on 18-of-26 passing.

Cole Statz, Assumption - Assumption didn't attempt a pass in Friday's 46-22 win over Athens, rolling up more than 400 yards as a team. Leading the way was Cole Statz, who rushed for 295 yards and four touchdowns on just eight carries, averaging more than 30 yards per attempt. He had first quarter scores from 55 and 66 yards out, adding a 49-yarder in the second quarter. Statz capped off the scoring with a 53-yard touchdown late in the third quarter as Assumption stretched it's lead from three points to 24 points in a span of ten game minutes.
