Week 5 WSN Football Player of the Week Nominees

The WisSports.net Player of the Week is back again for 2018. Voting is featured at the bottom of this article. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word (hint: Social Media is a great way to do so). Users may vote once per day.

WisSports.net Week 5 Player of the Week Nominees:

Tanner Keller, Waterford - Waterford moved into sole possession of first place in the Southern Lakes Conference with a 42-14 victory over previously undefeated Burlington on Friday night. Tanner Keller led a powerful ground attack, rushing 22 times for 196 yards and 4 touchdowns. With the game tied at 14 at halftime, Keller scored three straight touchdowns over the third and fourth quarters to help the Wolverines pull away.

Austin Larson, Onalaska - In a game where the teams combined for more than 1100 yards of offense, Onalaska quarterback Austin Larson played a huge role in helping the Hilltoppers knock off Sparta 62-55. Larson accounted for seven touchdowns in the contest. He threw for 5, completing 16-of-27 passes for 316 yards, and added two more scores on the ground as the team remained unbeaten in the Mississippi Valley Conference.

Adam Moen, Lake Mills - Lake Mills struggled to get it's ground game going against previously undefeated Poynette, but the passing game was going in high gear throughout the L-Cats' 47-14 victory. Moen completed 31-of-48 passes for 392 yards and 7 touchdowns in the win. Four of the scoring passes came before halftime, as the team built a 28-7 lead. Moen's 7 touchdowns is tied for fifth in state history.

Reagan Ruffi, Northwestern - The unbeaten showdown between Northwestern and Bloomer was a stalemate for the first 16 minutes, but Northwestern would score three times in the final 8:05 of the first half and eventually go up 28-0 in the fourth quarter before finishing with a 35-12 victory. Reagan Ruffi carried the ball 33 times for 224 yards, scoring three touchdowns for the Tigers. He added a couple tackles on defense and also punted for Northwestern.

Ron Wilson, Franklin - Franklin trailed Oak Creek from early in the second quarter to the beginning of the fourth, but the Sabers rallied for a 28-20 victory in a big-time rivalry game that saw both teams enter unbeaten. Ron Wilson scored all four touchdowns for Franklin, carrying the ball 21 times for 99 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground while adding a late scoring catch as well. Three of his four total touchdowns came after halftime, when Franklin trailed Oak Creek 20-7.
