Ron Wilson of Franklin has been selected as the Week 5 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Sabers top Oak Creek in a big rivalry game. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 5. A total of 7,985 votes were cast, as Wilson's 2,963 were enough to edge second place Reagan Ruffi of Northwestern, who tallied 2,754 votes.

Franklin trailed Oak Creek from early in the second quarter to the beginning of the fourth, but the Sabers rallied for a 28-20 victory in a big-time rivalry game that saw both teams enter unbeaten. Ron Wilson scored all four touchdowns for Franklin, carrying the ball 21 times for 99 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground while adding a late scoring catch as well. Three of his four total touchdowns came after halftime, when Franklin trailed Oak Creek 20-7. It is the first year playing varsity football for Wilson.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 6 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
