WisSports.net Week 6 Player of the Week Nominees:

Andrew Barnes, Cumberland - Barnes played a big role in Cumberland's 36-22 win over Bloomer, the first win for the Beavers over the Blackhawks in six years. On offense, he caught 5 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown. He made a significant contribution on defense as well, picking off three passes. He's up to eight receiving touchdowns this year with six interceptions.

Ismael Bastardo, Saint Francis - Bastardo opened the scoring in the Mariners' game against fellow unbeaten Living Word Lutheran, but LWL scored the game's next 27 points. Saint Francis battled back, eventually taking the lead late in the third quarter at 29-27. Bastardo scored a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to put the Mariners on top. It was Bastardo that closed things out for Saint Francis. On the game's final play, LWL's J.J. Wingo took a middle screen and broke several tackles, appearing to be off to the races. However, Bastardo chased him down and made the game-saving tackle as time ran out. He finished with 181 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries with five total tackles.

Jake Ebert, Menomonie - Menomonie threw the Big Rivers Conference race into complete chaos with a 20-17 win over Hudson, as the teams are now part of a four-way tie atop the league standings. It took a big fourth quarter, as the Mustangs trailed 17-7 early in the period. Ebert would throw a pair of touchdowns in the final quarter, including the game-winner to Sam Abornik with 2:48 remaining. He'd finish with 340 passing yards and three touchdowns on 17-of-34 passing.

Jaden Johnson, Edgerton - Johnson has been one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state this year, and had one of his best games as the Tiders beat a solid Beloit Turner squad 52-16. He'd rush 18 times for 267 yards, scoring five touchdowns. Johnson also completed three-of-five passes for 78 yards.

Dylan Schmitt, Horicon/Hustisford - Horicon/Hustisford ended Markesan's 22-game conference winning streak in a big way, putting a running clock on the Hornets in a 40-2 victory. Schmitt accounted for five of the team's touchdowns, throwing three of them and rushing for two. He completed 12-of-15 passes for 170 yards, adding 50 yards on 12 carries on the ground.
