Cross Country Honors: Finished third at the Indianhead Conference meet as a junior with a time of 17 minutes, 22 seconds ... Earned first-team all-league honors and was chosen as the team Most Valuable Player ... Finished 24th at the WIAA Division 3 Drummond Sectional in 2017 with a time of 19:00.

Football Honors: Second-team all-league selection at quarterback in the Lakeland-8 South Conference as a junior ... Chosen as the team MVP and captain ... Heading into the regular-season finale on October 13 against Mellen, Schmidt has passed for 864 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 681 yards and 13 touchdowns. 

Basketball Honors: First-team all-league pick in the Indianhead Conference as a junior when he averaged 24.0 points and 9.9 rebounds for a Mercer squad that went 6-17 under coach Adam Miller ... Scored a career-high 51 points in a non-conference victory over White Lake in 2017-18.  

Track & Field Honors: Turned in an outstanding performance at the 2018 Indianhead Conference Meet ... Finished second in the 1,600-meter run in 5:12.05 and third in both the 3,200-meter run (11:16.11) and triple jump (33-00.25) ... Also a member of Mercer's fourth place 4x100 relay squad.

Favorite Sport: "Basketball is my favorite sport. My dad never played sports and when he is watching me play, he is very happy and that makes it a special feeling."

Best Part of High School Sports: "The bus rides getting pumped before a game or after a win. Having your community support you is another part of high school sports I enjoy."

Best Advice from a High School Coach: "Don't always go so fast. Slow down a bit and then break for a move."

Most Memorable Moments in High School Sports: "When a teammate landed on my arm during a loose ball drill, I broke my arm. I had to get a cast on my broken arm, and I cut it off and played two days later."

Best Part of Playing Four Sports: "The dedication to be able to transform from one sport to another."
