Brandon Wilde of Palmyra-Eagle has been selected as the Week 8 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the team clinch its first playoff appearance since 2010. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 8. A total of 2,967 votes were cast, as Wilde's 1,346 were enough to edge second place Tyler Jirousek of Mauston, who tallied 630 votes.

Palmyra-Eagle junior quarterback Brandon Wilde has led the state of Wisconsin in passing for the 2018 season for several weeks, and that carried over to the top passing performance in Week 8. The Panthers became playoff-eligible with a 48-14 win over Parkview on Friday, as Wilde completed 21-of-32 passes for 352 yards and five touchdowns. This will be Palmyra-Eagle's first postseason appearance since 2010.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 9 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
